A Foray Into Sustainable Mycology
Patrick Harris started off with simply a love of nature. Fascinated by fungi, he was inspired to explore simple methods of cultivation to grow gourmet mushrooms for his own table. Compiling the best of the modern techniques, as well as low tech, off-the-grid techniques, he will instruct the curious on how to implement mushroom cultivation into permaculture design not only as a food crop but as a way of recycling plastics, streamlining agricultural wastes, and generating healthy compost for plants.
The workshop covers Oyster, Shiitake, and Garden Giant mushroom cultivation via low tech or completely off grid methods using recycled materials and cheap agricultural waste products like grain straw. It lasts approximately 3 hours with an included giveaway of 3 oyster mushroom kits raffled off at the end.
Investment for this class is $50. Seats are limited, so please get in early. A non-refundable deposit of $20 will hold your seat. Register with a friend/family member and save 20%.
