Lake Dallas, TX
Annette Argabright is the proprietor of Oliver's Gardens, a small permaculture-based microfarm in Lake Dallas. She lives as an example of growing in small spaces with the desire to educate her community while continually improving the lives of her family. For nearly two decades, Annette has been teaching, leading, and facilitating children and adults in topics of the natural world, individually, as well as groups and teams working with a variety of learning styles. During these years, she homeschooled her children through graduation and is now doing the same with her older grandson. With the support of the Dallas Zoo Nature Exchange, Argabright offered Nature studies and field experiences to homeschooling families. Annette took her Permaculture conversation to the next level by engaging in Permaculture Teacher Training in May 2017 through PermacultureDenton and Integrated Acres with master teacher Theron Beaudreau. Truly a lifelong student, Annette’s excitement for learning from and with her students is clear. She is continually inspired to undertake more and deeper material to bring more and deeper meaning to her students’ and her own life.
Annette’s other interests include a passion for art using fabric, fiber and repurposed materials. She has participated in the Denton Redbud Festival’s Trashion Fashion show and has won several awards for her designs. She has also been involved with theater production in costume management, design, and construction.
